Parts of a Refrigerator
There are not too many houses that do not have a refrigerator inside the kitchen. It’s been a must-have appliance for a lot of years. A household refrigerator is able to store your food at the best temperature, to stop spoilage and limit bacteria. The process of refrigeration starts by transferring the heat from the inside of the refrigerator to the outside, relying on principles of condensation and evaporation.
The main components of your refrigerator are below. For questions or service call Giles Appliance Repair:
Compressor
A refrigerator compressor is a combination of a motor and pump, and it’s responsible for circulation of refrigerant throughout the system.
A compressor is an important part of a refrigerator. You should enlist a professional company if the compressor is not working.
Condenser
The condenser is located on the rear outside panel of the appliance and helps to release the warmth built-up inside the refrigerator out in the surrounding air.
Evaporator
The refrigerator evaporator is attached in the inside of the refrigerator where it absorbs the warmth held inside of it, thereby lowering the interior temperature.
Once an evaporator isn’t working, it is time to call a professional. You should not wait too long.
Expansion Device
Liquid refrigerant is directed within a capillary tube that works as an expansion device to cool the gas, transforming the gas into liquid.
Thermostat
The thermostat will regulate the temperature within the refrigerator, starting the cooling period when appropriate.
A thermostat inside of a refrigerator is prone to malfunction. Troubleshoot and hire a contractor in California for repair right when an issue occurs.
How Does Refrigeration Work?
1. Once the temperature within the refrigerator rises higher than the set point sensors signal the compressor to begin, and the cool down begins. The refrigerator collects the cold liquified refrigerant, then pressurizes and condenses the refrigerant, and increases the temperature, turning it into a gas.
2. The compressor unit directs the warm gas towards the condenser coils on the back of the refrigerator, at which point it comes into contact with warmer temperature in the kitchen and returns to a liquid form.
3. The cool refrigerant then continues its journey towards the evaporator, making its way through the many coils within the appliance and freezer.
4. The liquid absorbs the heated air from the interior of the appliance, returning the temperature until it has reached the correct final point.
5. The liquid then evaporates, and will turn back into a gas, and returns to the compressor in order to then continue the cooling cycle.
Refrigeration is often found in several applications and appliances, including heat pumps, AC units, refrigerators and residential freezers. By removing heat from a single area and then moving it to elsewhere the cycle of refrigeration contributes in cooling a home, provides a perfect storage space for perishable food, and also helps with manufacturing and storage of several different products and materials.
